250g is about the right amount needed to start a tiered worm farm, such as the Can O Worms or Worm Cafe or similar.
500g is enough for a Hungry Bin or to add to a compost bin, but if you are needing worms for a compost, the Compost Kickstarter might be a better mix as it will contain a broad range of micro flora and fauna - the important microbial and fungal life needed for good decomposition of organic matter.
The worms will be supplied with some of their 'home' so they transition into their new environment with the minimum of stress and there will also be a good quantity of worm eggs (cocoons) included.
When ordering worms, please remember to give instructions where the parcel can be left out of the sun, if no one is likely to be home. I can make a note on the address label which will authorise the courier to leave it.
